Pauley's pullover

Ezúttal én is csatlakozom a Sewing For Boys közös varrásához a szeptemberi darabbal. Épp ideje volt varrni a hideg beköszöntével pulcsikat a legkisebbemnek, így ez kitűnő alkalom volt rá. Rögtön kettőt is varrtam ebből az igen egyszerű pulóverből, az egyiket polárból  a másikat pedig egy csíkos vastagabb dzsörzéből és  még annyit egyszerűsítettem az eredeti leíráshoz képest, hogy az aljába gumit húztam és nem megkötőt, így megspóroltam a gomblyukakat is.

This time I join, too to the Sewing For Boys sew along with the September project: Pauley' pullover. This was really a very easy one to sew, so I immediately made in two versions, one of them from polar fleece and the other from a striped jersey. I simplified a bit more the original pattern, so instead of a string at the bottom with buttonholes I used simple strings of elastic in the casing.

kukoricalepény - corn cake

A családdal töltött pihenő és némi kényszerpihenő (internet szolgáltatás) után egy nálunk nem mindennapi, de sokat emlegetett és most kipróbálásra került finomságot hoztam. Biztosan ismeritek Bálint Ágnes Mazsoláját. A történet legelején kínálja a zöld kismalacot Manócska kukoricalepénnyel. Sokat mondogatják nálunk a gyerekek a könyv egyes mondatait, a következőt is "kukoricalepény, édes, drága kukoricalepény". Nyáron egy régi kis szakácskönyvben bukkantam erre a receptre, amit ma kipróbáltam és hatalmas sikert aratott. Az iskolából, óvodából hazaérkező éhes aprónép (esznek ott is, de mindig éhesek :) ) szinte egy ültében elfogyasztotta. Nekem nem volt olyan különleges, de nekik nagyon ízlett, persze lehet, hogy ebben Mazsolának is komoly szerepe volt :).

After our summer holiday and a bit of forced break because of being unplugged I brought a recipe for you. In a hungarian tale Mazsola by Ágnes Bálint the main character a little green pig eats this cake in the beginning of the story. My children like the book very much, so I was very happy when finding this recipe in an old cookbook during the holidays. Today I tried it, and though it is not very special my children loved it and ate nearly the whole after arriving home from the school and the nursery...maybe Mazsola, the little pig had an important role in it :)

A recept nagyon egyszerű 7 dl kukoricalisztet 1 l tejjel leforrázni és simára keverni, majd ha langyosra hűlt 2 evőkanál cukor, csipet só, 2 tojás és egy diónyi vaj keverékével összekeverni és egy kivajazott tepsiben forró sütőben pirosra sütni (én egy picit több cukrot tettem bele és ha elkészült, lehet még cukrozni, vagy lekvárral kínálni...stb.).

It is very easy to make: you have to boil 1 l milk and pour it onto 7 dl corn flour and mix it well. When the mixture cooled down stir it with the mixture of 2 tablespoons of sugar, two eggs, a pinch of salt and a teaspoon of butter. Pour it into a buttered cake form and bake in a hot oven until nice brown.

zsebkendőtartók - tissue holders

Minden évben készítek valami apróságot az óvónőknek, dadusoknak, tanítónőknek év végén. Idén ezeket a zsebkendőtartókat adtuk ajándékba. Egyet ezúttal magmnak is varrtam, mert megelégeltem, hogy a szatyromban mindig keresgéljem a zsebkendőket itt-ott.

I make every year little presents for the staff in the nursery and the teachers in the school. This year I sewed these tissue holders as a present for them. This time I made one for myself, too as I did not want to look for the tissues everywhere in my bag anymore.

múlt hetünk / második rész - our last week / part two

Ebben az időben nemigen ülök ide a gép elé, kint vagyunk, levegőzünk, mosunk, olyat is, amit máskor nem (szőnyegeket párnákat, mert most hipp-hopp megszáradnak). De tartozom még az egy heti beszámoló második felével...ami már nem is a múlt hetünk, hanem azelőtti. Beszéljenek a képek.

 In this hot summer weather I rarely sit in front of the PC (we are outside on the fresh air, doing a lot of washing in the hot weather..carpets, pillows, duvets...etc.), but I would like to share you the pictures on our last week (which is not the last anymore, but the previous of it).

szíves papír girland - paper heart garland

Ennek a füzérnek/ girlandnak, ki hogy szereti hívni az elkészítése tényleg nagyon egyszerűen és gyorsan megy. Kell hozzá pár darab A4-es papír, ha színesre szeretnénk, akkor különféle színekből, egy kis darab karton, ceruza, olló és az összeállításhoz a varrógépünk. Én most egy egyszerű fehér papíron mutatom meg, hogy készítettem őket.

/ Making this heart garland is really simple. You'll need an A4 form paper (white or coloured), cardboard, pencil, scissors and your sewing machine.

 A kartonból kivágtam egy fél szívet sablonnak. / I cut a half heart form from cardboard to have a pattern.

 Az A4-es papírt félbe, majd a széleket a középvonalhoz hajtottam. / I folded the paper in half, then the edges to the center line.

 A sablon segítségével felrajzoltam a szívek felét. / Using the pattern I drew the half hearts.

 A vonalak mentén kivágtam, így egy A4-es papírból 6 szívet kaptam. / I cut out to get 6 hearts from paper.

 Egy hosszabb cérnát hagyva az elején (aminél majd fel lehet kötni őket) kezdtem őket összevarrni a középvonaluk mentén (ahol már úgyis ott volt a hajtás, így ez vezetett) A varrás elején és végén oda-vissza varrással rögzítettem a cérnát. Egy szív végigvarrása után kicsit üresen varrtam, hogy ne érjenek teljesen egymáshoz és úgy toltam be a következő szívet. / Leaving a bit longer thread  at the beginning (to be able to tie the garland later) I sewed the hearts one after the other leaving a bit space between them. I reinforced the stiches at the beginning and at the end of the sewing.

 El is készült a 6 szívből álló füzér. / And the garland from 6 hearts is ready.

múlt hetünk / első rész - our last week / part one

 - Zsúroztunk a kertben, mindenféle szívecskés kiegészítővel. A múltkori bejegyzésben mutatott girlandon kívül készítettem még papírból is lógó füzéreket (leírás holnap), szívecske díszeket  a szívószálakra, és természetsen szív alakúak voltak a torták, szíves cukorral megszórva és az ünnepelt ruhája is csakis szíves lehetett :)

- Voltunk barátoknál vidéken lovagolni és mindenféle állatokat megcsodálni.

- My little girl had her birthday party in the garden with heart garlands, not only from fabric, but I made from paper, too (tutorial coming tomorrow). I also made heart decoration for the straws and heart shaped cakes with heart shaped sugars on them, and of course my birthday girl had a heart patterned dress :)

- We went to friends to the countryside to ride a horse and watch farm animals.
